Inclusion/Exclusion Checklists

Patients

INCLUSION

Is the subject:

1. Male or female aged 18-50
2. Principal DSM-5 diagnosis of OCD
3. Y-BOCS ≥ 16
4. No psychotropic meds for the last 6 weeks, with the exception of PRN sleeping meds (e.g., zolpidem or trazodone up to 50 mg) and benzos as long as not within the past week or during study participation
5. No CBT/EXRP focused on OCD within the past 6 weeks
6. Able to tolerate a treatment-free period for 1 week
7. Capable of providing informed consent

EXCLUSION

Is the subject/does the subject have any of the following?

1. Lifetime diagnosis of psychotic disorder
2. Lifetime diagnosis of bipolar disorder
3. Lifetime diagnosis of anorexia nervosa
4. Lifetime diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder with IQ < 80
5. Lifetime diagnosis of Tourette disorder
6. Current chronic tic disorder (current = in the past 12 months)
7. Current substance-related and addictive disorders, including nicotine (current = in the past 12 months)
8. Current binge-eating disorder or bulimia (current = in the past 12 months)
9. Acute risk of suicide
10. Female who is pregnant
11. Major medical or neurological problems (including head injury with loss of consciousness)
12. Presence of metallic devices or dental braces
13. IQ < 80
14. Cigarette use: more than 5 per day
15. Alcohol use: more than 2 drinks per day for women and more than 3 drinks per day for men
16: Marijuana use: more than once per week

Unaffected Siblings

INCLUSION

Is the subject:

1. Male or female aged 18-50
2. Capable of providing informed consent
3. Has a biological sibling with OCD

EXCLUSION

Is the subject/does the subject have any of the following:

1. Current psychiatric diagnosis
2. Lifetime psychiatric diagnosis with the exception of major depressive disorder & anxiety disorders (if not within the past 12 months)
3. Current use of psychotropic medications with the exception of PRN sleeping drugs (e.g., zolpidem and trazodone up to 50 mg) and benzos if not within the past week and not during study participation
4. Past use of psychotropic medications with the exception of PRN sleeping drugs and benzos
5. Female who is pregnant
6. Major medical or neurological problems (including head injury with loss of consciousness)
7. Presence of metallic device or dental braces
8. IQ < 80
9. Cigarette use: more than 5 per day
10. Alcohol use: more than 2 drinks per day for women and more than 3 drinks per day for men
11: Marijuana use: more than once per week

Healthy Control

INCLUSION

Is the subject:

1. Male or female aged 18-50
2. Capable of providing informed consent

EXCLUSION

Is the subject/does the subject have any of the following:

1. Current psychiatric diagnosis
2. Lifetime psychiatric diagnosis with the exception of major depressive disorder & anxiety disorders (if not within the past 12 months)
3. Current use of psychotropic medications with the exception of PRN sleeping drugs (e.g., zolpidem and trazodone up to 50 mg) and benzos if not within the past week and not during study participation
4. Past use of psychotropic medications with the exception of PRN sleeping drugs and benzos
5. First degree relative with OCD or tic disorder
6. Female who is pregnant
7. Major medical or neurological problems (including head injury with loss of consciousness)
8. Presence of metallic device or dental braces
9. IQ < 80
10. Cigarette use: more than 5 per day
11. Alcohol use: more than 2 drinks per day for women and more than 3 drinks per day for men
12: Marijuana use: more than once per week
